This disease is one of the sexually transmitted diseases caused by Chlamydia trachomatis, which manifests a variety of acute to chronic genital damage with local lymphadenopathy. Synonyms for this disease are: tropical diaphragmatic, althaun, adenopathy, dengue diaphragmatic, benign suppurative periguinal lymphadenitis, inguinal epidermal lymphadenopathy, inguinal lymphogranuloma lymphagranuloma inguinale, Durand-Nicolas -Favre disease and fourth venereal disease.
