Neonatal cold injury syndrome

Cold injury syndrome (cold injury syndrome), referred to as neonatal cold injury, is also called neonatal scleredema because of swollen skin. It is caused by cold or (and) various diseases, with hypothermia and scleredema as the main clinical manifestations, and severe organs may be complicated by multiple organ failure. It is more common in premature babies and cold seasons. It can also occur in the course of severe sepsis. It is characterized by sclerosis and edema of the skin and subcutaneous adipose tissue. It is common for newborns who are born prematurely, asphyxiated and infected. Multiple organ damage may occur in severe cases. .
