Obsessive-compulsive disorder

Obsessive-compulsive disorder is short for obsessive-compulsive disorder. It is a type of neurotic disorder characterized by the recurrence of obsession. Obsessions are ideas, appearances, or intentions that repeatedly enter the realm of patient consciousness in a rigid form. These thoughts, appearances, or intentions are meaningless, unnecessary, or unnecessary to the patient; the patient realizes that these are his own thoughts, and he wants to get rid of them, but is powerless, and is very distressed. Compulsive actions are repetitive stereotypes or ritual actions, and they are the result of patients succumbing to obsessions in an effort to reduce inner anxiety.
