Meggs syndrome

Meigs syndrome (Meigs syndrome), also translated as Megger syndrome, refers to patients with ovarian fibroma (fibroma) with pleural effusion and ascites, which can be bloody. A group of symptoms in which pleural effusion and ascites can disappear after tumor removal. Ovarian fibroids are often complicated by ascites and pleural effusion. The clinical manifestations of patients with Meigs syndrome often resemble advanced liver cirrhosis, congestive heart failure, or advanced malignant tumors, but ascites and pleural effusion disappear after the tumor is removed. This syndrome is often associated with parenchymal tumors of the ovary, Brenner tumors, and granulosa cell tumors.
