Cleft tongue

The duplicated tongue is also called scrotal tongue, fissured tongue, furrowed tongue. Map tongues are often combined and are susceptible to infectious stomatitis, and appear in Down syndrome and Melkersoon Rosenthal syndrome. We have observed recurrent dermatitis at the extremities, red pityriasis, and palmoplantar pustulosis. This disease is similar to the cracked tongue of traditional Chinese medicine, commonly known as the cracked tongue surface, mostly due to loss of double yin and spleen deficiency.
