Pneumocystis carinii pneumonia

Pneumocystis carinii pneumonia (PCP) is also known as pneumocystis, pneumocystis carinii, and pneumocystis carinii pneumonia. Often accompanied by patients with acquired immunodeficiency syndrome. Its pathogenic feature is interstitial pneumonia. It is characterized by fever, cough, and dyspnea. It develops rapidly and has a high mortality rate. The disease has been reported in various countries, and confirmed cases have also been reported in China. The disease is more common in immunocompromised or defective people and can be considered an opportunistic infection.
