Nails suddenly turn white

Introduction

Introduction A sudden whitening of the nail means that the color of the nail suddenly appears white in a short period of time. It is caused by microcirculatory disorders (ischemia, congestion, disseminated intravascular coagulation) leading to insufficient perfusion of microcirculatory arterial blood. The changes in microcirculation during shock can be roughly divided into three phases, namely microcirculation ischemic phase, microcirculation hepatic phase and microcirculation coagulation phase. The main performance is the pale color of the nails, lack of blood color, more common in malnutrition, anemia patients. If the nail is turned white, and the blood color is not restored for a long time after the release, it may be qi stagnation and blood stasis. If the nail is white like frosted glass, it is characteristic of cirrhosis.

Diagnosis

Differential diagnosis

The nail has a large vertical pattern and a thin finger differential diagnosis:

1, white color is white: nail color is pale, lack of blood color, more common in malnutrition, anemia patients. If the nail is turned white, and the blood color is not restored for a long time after the release, it may be qi stagnation and blood stasis. If the nail is white like frosted glass, it is characteristic of cirrhosis.

2. There are a few white spots on the nail: it is usually the manifestation of calcium deficiency, silicon deficiency or parasitic diseases. The number of white spots is relatively large, which may be a sign of neurasthenia; and yellow spots on the nails may cause diseases of the digestive system. If black spots appear on the nails, be careful. The light ones are just overworked and malnourished. The severe ones may be a sign of gastroptosis, stomach cancer, and uterine cancer.
