Tongue tremor

Introduction

Introduction When the patient is at rest, the tongue is involuntarily shaking. It is characterized by slow rhythmic tremor, 4 to 6 tremors per second, the amplitude is uncertain, and will be exacerbated when the spirit is tense. Many patients are also accompanied by postural tremor of 5-8 times/second.

More common in patients with Parkinson's disease, is a symptom of damage to the nervous system.

Tremor is the main manifestation. Parkinson's disease uses high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) to detect a decrease in HVA (high vanillic acid) levels in cerebrospinal fluid and urine. Brain CT can have widening of the sulcus and enlargement of the ventricles.

Diagnosis

Differential diagnosis

Idiopathic tremor: a dominant genetic disease, characterized by involuntary tremors of the head, jaw, and limbs. The frequency of tremor can be high or low, and the high frequency is similar to hyperthyroidism; the low frequency is similar to Parkinson's tremor. The disease has no reduction in exercise, increased muscle tone, and posture reflex disorder, and disappears after drinking, and the treatment of cardiotonic treatment can be differentiated from primary Parkinson's disease.

Benign tremor: refers to physiological tremors (invisible to the naked eye) and functional tremors without brain organic lesions.

Functional tremor includes: 1. Physiological tremor enhancement (visible to the naked eye), mostly posture tremor, associated with augmentation of adrenergic regulation; also seen in certain endocrine diseases such as pheochromocytoma, hypoglycemia, thyroid function Advance; 2. Cocaine and alcoholism and side effects of some drugs. Caries tremors, mostly heart-induced causes, distracting can alleviate tremors. 3. Others: tremors when emotions are intense and when doing fine movements. Benign tremor is clinically characterized by no such manifestations as Parkinson's disease such as myotonia, decreased movement, and abnormal posture.
