knee replacement surgery

The knee joint is a composite joint consisting of the distal femur (femoral condyle) and the proximal humerus (the supracondylar articular surface). The femoral condyle slides smoothly on the articular surface of the humerus, so that the calf can make a smooth, painless movement. Knee joint injuries requiring knee replacement are mostly caused by osteoarthritis, which is a kind of degenerative of the knee bone. Disease, which makes the surface of the knee joint rough and not smooth, and the knee joint is painful during exercise. Treatment of diseases: osteoarthritis Indication 1. Knee pain caused by knee osteoarthritis or arthritis, who has been treated with conservative treatment (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs for more than 6 months); 2. Knee joint dysfunction caused by arthritis; 3. Can not work due to joint pain; 4. Can not fall asleep due to joint pain; 5. Can not reach more than 3 blocks due to joint pain; 6. Unstable knee repair; 7. Part of the humerus fracture. Contraindications The general condition is poor and cannot tolerate the operator. Preoperative preparation Prepare routinely before surgery. Surgical procedure An incision is made in the knee, the tibia is removed, and the rough portion above the femur and tibia is scraped to place the replacement device. A special bone cement is used to place the two parts of the replacement device into the femur and tibia. A thin drainage tube is placed for excretion of excess fluid in the joint after surgery. After the operation, the patient was bandaged with a large amount of dressing. The patient's leg is placed in a continuous passive motion (CPM) device (a mechanical device that flexes the knee joint at a preset speed and number of movements). The knee speed and frequency are gradually increased according to the patient's tolerance. The legs are always placed in this device when lying in bed. It helps patients recover quickly and reduces postoperative pain, bleeding and infection.
