The rotation test is an experiment to check whether the vestibular function is normal. The flow of the endolymph of the semicircular canal is stimulated to stimulate the ampulla reaction, which is the basic principle of semicircular canal function examination. Generally, the characteristics of induced nystagmus are used as criteria for judgment. The relationship between endolymph fluid flow and induced nystagmus can be inferred according to the following law: 1. The plane of the nysonic motion of Flouren's law is the same as the plane of the stimulated semicircular canal. 2, Ewald's first law outside the semicircular canal is stimulated, such as the lymphatic fluid flowing from the tube to the ampulla, resulting in stronger stimulation, the weaker stimulation will occur from the ampulla to the tube. The opposite is true when the upper semicircular canal and the posterior semicircular canal are stimulated. The ratio of strong and weak stimuli caused by the reaction is 2:1 or 3:2. 3. Ewald's second law is that the nystagmus is facing toward the semicircular canal with the stronger side, while the slow phase is toward the semicircular canal with the weaker side. Inspection process The subject sits on a swivel chair with the head fixed at 30° forward, so that the outer semicircular canal is horizontal, and rotates 10 times to the right (clockwise) or left (counterclockwise) at a speed of 2 seconds. After a sudden stop, the subject was staring forward and observing the nystagmus. After rotating in the clockwise direction, an nystagmus to the left occurs, and a counterclockwise rotation is a nystagmus to the right.
